The weldability of the roll depends on its material. Rolls with C≤0.8% are easy to surfacing; 0.8%<C<1.5% rolls can also be surfacing when the correct surfacing process is matched with suitable surfacing materials; C>1.5% rolls are difficult to surfacing Very large, especially the rolls that are under high load cannot be surfacing, only the method of manual arc welding, using special surfacing materials and processes, can be repaired. The surfacing methods of rolls include submerged arc automatic welding, electroslag welding, gas shielded welding and spray welding, among which submerged arc automatic welding is widely used.
The submerged arc automatic welding of the submerged arc automatic surfacing roll is the most commonly used method, which is divided into two categories: wire submerged arc welding and strip submerged arc welding; wire submerged arc welding has solid wire and flux cored wire. point. Despite the variety, the surfacing process is largely the same.
Roll core processing before welding According to the size of the drawing, the diameter of the roll core is reduced by 15-20mm to ensure that the working surface of the roll after surfacing welding is above the third layer of surfacing welding. The repair of the old roller should be done until the car is completely cracked. If the roll has been surfacing multiple times, an ultrasonic flaw detector should be used to check for cracks hidden inside. Failure to remove cracks before welding may result in premature roll breakage in service.
