What are the requirements for the production of rollers

Roller manufacturing requirements:

1. The roller should have sufficient rigidity to ensure that the bending deformation does not exceed the allowable value under heavy load.

2. The surface of the roller should have sufficient hardness, generally required to reach HRC50 degrees or more, with strong corrosion resistance. The coating has the ability to resist falling, which ensures that the working surface of the roller has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

3. The surface of the roller should be finely processed to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness. The roughness should be above Ra0.16 without pores or grooves. The wall thickness of the surface of the roller should be uniform, otherwise the temperature of the roller surface will be uneven, which will affect the quality of the product.

4. The material of the roller should have excellent thermal conductivity. Generally, chilled cast iron is used, and in special cases, cast steel or molybdenum-chromium alloy steel is used. Whether it is heating or cooling, it can reach the chrome-plated roller quickly and uniformly.

The rollers are generally made of seamless steel pipes, and some are also made of aluminum alloy 6061T5, 304L/316L stainless steel, 2205 duplex stainless steel, steel castings, and solid forged alloy steel cores depending on different process requirements. The production of the roller is mainly composed of the initial rolling of the roller body, the initial static balance adjustment, the welding of the shaft head interference device, the fine turning and the fine adjustment dynamic balance. If the shape and position tolerances such as roundness, cylindricity and straightness are required to be below 0.2mm, the cylindrical grinder or roll grinder is required for grinding after finishing. If the surface hardness is required, a heat treatment process needs to be added.

After the roller is formed, for the needs of anti-rust, anti-corrosion, wear resistance and support, it also needs surface treatment or coating such as painting, galvanizing, TEFLON spraying, rubber coating, chrome plating, ceramic spraying and oxidation.
