A large number of cots are used on Fourdrinier and garden wire machines in the paper industry. Different parts of the paper machine are equipped with rubber rollers for different purposes. A large Fourdrinier machine needs more than 70 rubber rollers.

A couch roll is installed on the wire part of the paper machine, and the hardness of its rubber layer is controlled at 30-35 Shore A. If the hardness is too high, it will cause poor contact between the couch roll and the garden net, and the chrome-plated roll will affect the lifting of the wet paper from the net, and will also cause embossing. If the hardness of the couch roll rubber layer is too low, the pressing effect on the wet paper sheet is small, resulting in the disadvantage of large moisture in the wet paper.

The press part of the paper machine is equipped with a dewatering press roll, a vacuum press roll, a groove press roll, a sleeve press roll, a felt roll, and a tight felt roll. The dewatering press roll is the main rubber roll on the paper machine, and its main purpose is to remove the moisture of the wet pulp. The hardness of the press roll is usually 80-90 Shore A, and the highest hardness is above 98 Shore A. It is a quartz rubber roller made of quartz sand in rubber. The hardness of the press roll increases correspondingly with the increasing pressure of each press line from time to time. During the operation, the pressing and dewatering rubber roller will be deformed or bent to a certain extent. In order to make the pressure acting on the pulp evenly, the rubber layer at the bending place should have a certain degree of deflection and creep.

In order to improve the pressing and dewatering effect of the rubber roller, a grooved rubber roller is presented. The grooved rubber roller is used for pressing and dewatering without requiring too much line pressure. The chrome-plated roller has been widely used in Fourdrinier paper machines at home and abroad. Pressed, and achieved good dehydration effect.
